Two More Routines by Oksana Omelianchik and Emilia Eberle

They were both featured in "Who Did It Better" a few days ago, and they both have one other floor routine that I absolutely love...

Oksana's "Birdie" routine is basically a gymnastics legend. Love the music, love the dance, and the tumbling is hard, too!

I'm curious to see if anyone likes this next one... I originally found it when someone posted it as one of their favorites of all time, but a few days later someone else said it was one of the worst attempts at choreography! Click HERE to watch it, and let me know what you think in the poll on the sidebar.

Three More to Compare...

Here's three more routines to the same music as the routines in yesterdays post. I think the music might be called Ballet Russe. Please don't quote me on that :) If anyone knows for sure, leave a comment.

In chronological order:

Mary-Lou Retton

Oksana Omelianchik

Allana Slater

Allana's routine wasn't nearly as good as the other four. It could have been much better had she used the music a few years later. Mary-Lou's wasn't as fun to watch as most of the routines from the 80's, but it was still much, much better than most of the routines we see today. Oksana's was beautiful. Teodora's is still my favorite, but Oksana's and Emilia's are pretty close :)

Who Did It Better?

Two gymnasts...
From the same country...
Same music (although different cuts)...
Who did it better?

My vote is for Teodora, although I love both of them! :)

Watch Teodora Ungureanu HERE.

Emilia Eberle

I love how they both do the flip to straddle thing. It's very cute.

By the way... Does anyone know what the music is called?

FUN floor routines!

If at least one (more like all) of these doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will.

This first one I just found today. If you are one of those people who thinks that old gymnastics isn't fun to watch, this should change your mind.
GRRRR. Embedding disabled. Click HERE. You won't be sorry.

This one is an example of my favorite kind of choreography. I LOVE it.

And this one is... Just watch it :) Nina got the chance to perform it on live national television when she competed at the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup back in March.

Gymnastics Videos on Gymnastike

It's nice to know that some gymnasts can still dance... (Obviously not in reference to the first one, but the other two are both from this year. Now if only elite routines were that entertaining...)

Spirit of the Moon (my new project/an awesome e-zine!)

To all of you wondering why I haven't posted in more than a month... I just haven't "felt" it. I've decided that from now on, I will make NO MORE promises about posts. I'll post when I have something to say AND have time to do it. I might post a recap of the Olympics/preview of figure skating worlds tomorrow, but I have a lot of work to do, so I might not.

The other reason why I haven't been posting, is because I've been working on an AWESOME new project!!! It's an e-zine by and for girls ages 9-14, and we just published the first issue yesterday!!! So head on over to spiritofthemoon.wordpress.com to check it out! Even if you're not a girl between the ages of 9-14, it's still pretty cool :) Feel free to forward the link to your friends, or post the link on your blog. I want to make a blog button, but I don't know how. Can anyone tell me how/make one for me?

Sorry for the long absence, but again, please remember that I will only be posting when I have time, which it seems is not often. I still love all of you!

If Everyone Cared - Nickelback

Amazing song, amazing video, what else can I say? Makes you want to stop spending your life on the computer ;)

Or HERE.

One year...

One year ago (exactly, check the time) I published my first post. Since then, my writing (on the blog, at least) has gone down hill drastically. Check out THIS post to see what I mean. Now, I'm still in love with blogger, and I think that my writing is getting better again :) Over the last few days I've made quite a few changes to the blog, and I will continue to improve the blog over the next year. You can help me do that by telling me what you like and don't like about the blog.

And now it's 8:44 AM so I had better publish if I want the time to work out :)

Impossible is nothing...

"Using the internet, I am now in more than two places at the same time. I have just done the impossible!"

That's what popped up on the "motivational quotes" gadget on the sidebar, and I just had to share...

Swim - Oh No Ono

Odd song, and even odder music video. But I am loving it :)

Music + New Background!

I added a playlist! Do you like it? More songs will be added all the time. If you have a suggestion, leave it in the comments!

I also changed the background. I think I'm going to get a custom background soon, but I'm still trying to decide exactly what I want. I also don't know how to make one, so I'll probably have to ask someone else to do it. If I can figure out how, I'll do it myself. Does anyone know how to get HTML code if I make something on PhotoShop? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Poll - What is your favorite inspirational color?

What color inspires you? Which one makes you want to be as awesome as you can be?

RED

ORANGE

YELLOW

GREEN

BLUE

PURPLE

PINK

BROWN

BLACK

WHITE

Any shade... for example, turquoise and navy would both be under blue. Cream would be under white. A purple so dark that it almost looked black could be considered black... or purple if that's how you think of the color.

If you like, tell everyone what shade you were thinking of and why you think it's inspirational to you!

I voted for red :) A nice, deep, bright red...
